3 Things every woman should know about high heels

freshboutiqueinc june 2016A very few women are able to walk for hours in high heels. The rest of us, need to understand 3 main tips to make sure, we purchase the right heels that are most comfortable. Here are 3 key areas that need to be considered before your next shoe purchase – construction, materials and brands.

Construction – when choosing a new pair of heels, consider the shoe’s “pitch”. This is the difference between the height of the heel, in comparison to the sole of the shoe. As the difference increases, the less the comfort. To reduce the “pitch”, choose a heel with a platform. This will soften the angle at which your foot hits the ground. The other area to look into, is the shoes “vamp”. This is the upper section of the shoe that covers the top of your foot. The higher the “vamp” the more support there is for your feet. It is also important to look at how your foot is built. For example, if you have a wider foot, it would be better to choose a sandal than a closed toe shoe.

Material – The right materials will also affect your comfort levels. Patent leather and Perspex, tend to be stiffer and can cut your feet. Choose natural fabrics, like suede and satin, since they offer stretch and breathability.

Brands – There are a number shoe brand, ranging from the very expensive to the very cheap. The most important thing is finding a pair of heels that are comfortable and relatively long lasting. Therefore, look at a variety of brands and what works best for you.
