When to splurge and when to save on clothing

Fashions do fade, and you will realize that items on trend usually go out of style in a matter of months. However, there are some staples that you can wear all year round, making them worthy of a splurge. Here are some items that you should spluge and save on.

Splurge: Nude heels – If you often wear cheap shoes and then suffer from blisters, it may be time to invest in an expensive pair of nude heels. Nude heels, go with almost anything, and a comfortable pair will go well with everything in your wardrobe.

Save: Flowy sleeves – Bell sleeves are back, and although they are funky for both casual and office wear, this look is not timeless. Therefore don’t spend the big bucks on these tops, instead look for high street brands.

Splurge: Spring to summer dress – Transitioning your wardrobe with a few additional pieces is a wise move. Start with investing in a good quality flowy dress that will take you from spring to summer by adding a few layers and different shoes.

Save: Straw Bag – Straw bags are pretty and feminine while being an excellent add-on for spring and summer. However, the straw bag trend will not last long so enjoy this retro novelty without the hefty price tag.

Splurge: Structured shirt – A structured shirt can be great for work and your days off. Pair yours with a pencil skirt, tailored pants or dress it down with jeans or denim shorts. Look for shirts that fit well and those that are well structured.
